Editorial Standards: How We Research, Source and Correct

Mobile Home Move Guide exists to help owners move a mobile or manufactured home safely and without surprises. These are the rules every page follows.

How we research

We start from primary sources: statutes, regulations, and the agencies that issue permits and licenses. We open and read every source we cite, and each page shows the date we last checked them (October 28, 2026 for the current pages).
Every rule, fee and price on a page links to its source in a numbered list at the bottom. If we can't find a source for something, we leave it out or say plainly that it's unverified.
A state gets a full guide only after we've checked its rules against that state's own statutes and agencies. Until then, national guides tell you what to ask locally.

How we handle prices

No one publishes a price survey of actual mobile home moves. Our cost ranges combine several named cost guides; where they disagree we show the spread and set our planning range toward the high end, so you're less likely to be surprised.
Fees set by law (permit fees, for example) come from the statute or agency, not a cost guide. Ranges are for planning only; a real quote needs someone to look at your home and both sites.

Independence and money

No paid placements. No contractor, lender, insurer or advertiser can pay to appear, be ranked, or change what a page says. We don't rate, rank or recommend contractors.
If you ask for quotes, we may share your request with licensed contractors. We may receive compensation from the providers we connect you with. That never changes page content; compensation disclosure.

Corrections

Email hello@mobilehomemoveguide.com if something is wrong or out of date. We check the source, fix the page, and update its date.
When a correction changes what a reader would do (a rule, a fee, a deadline), we add a short dated correction note on the page.
We re-check every source at least every six months, and sooner when a law or form changes.
