What it means for your quote
A 16 ft single-wide needs two escorts and a mid-day window; a 14 ft home on a four-lane highway needs one. HomeGuide puts escort (pilot car) fees at $1.50-$3.50 per mileHomeGuide, so ask whether the quote includes them.
Older guides cite NCDOT Publication MH-2 (Rev. 04/2015). Parts of it are out of date: it still describes fax applications and Monday-Saturday travel for 12-14 ft homes. Use ST-1 and the rule above.
